What this does and does not account for

It is an estimate, not a promise

Every figure here projects today’s rate forward. Rates move every epoch: validators change commission, MEV varies with network activity, and Solana’s inflation schedule declines about 15% a year by design. A hundred-month projection at a fixed rate is arithmetic, not a forecast.

Commission is already deducted

The rates offered are what reaches a delegator after the validator’s cut. Nothing here subtracts commission a second time, which is a real error to guard against, since the commission figure is published separately and looks like it still needs applying.

Nothing here is priced in risk

A validator can go delinquent and earn you nothing for an epoch. Unstaking waits for an epoch boundary or two before the SOL is withdrawable, currently a day and a half each. An LST can trade below its redemption value when you want out. None of that is in these numbers. The dollar figures hold whatever price is in the field at a constant, so they answer “what would this be worth at that price” and never “what will the price be”.
